Welcome to Xaverian’s new faculty and staff!

Allyson Butler - World Languages
Mrs. Allyson Butler is the newest addition to Xaverian’s world languages department. Prior to Xaverian, she taught at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham. She has a B.A in Spanish and secondary education, and a Master of Arts in educational technology. She previously served as a moderator for the National Spanish Honors Society, Spanish club, Students for Soldiers club, and a faculty/staff support club. In her free time she enjoys watching the Food Network, and her favorite book is Ethan Frome

Jacob Devereaux - Social Studies and English
Mr. Jacob Devereaux will have a dual role as a social studies and English teacher this year. Prior to Xaverian, Mr. Devereaux taught at Our Lady's Academy in Waltham. He has a B.A. in both politics and history from Brandeis University and a Master of Education from Fitchburg State University. He is excited to be working alongside an amazing team of educators as well as returning to a Xaverian Brothers sponsored school for the first time since he graduated from Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury. Before becoming a teacher, Mr. Devereaux worked as a historical trades interpreter doing blacksmithing, whiskey distillation, and farming at George Washington’s Mount Vernon museum. 

Stephen Weyl - Computer Science
Mr. Stephen Weyl joins our talented computer science faculty this year. Prior to Xaverian, Mr. Weyl performed computer science research at Stanford, where he managed major software development projects; served as an executive at Apple, IBM, and Japanese multinational, Ricoh; and acted as a founder and board member of several technology companies. He has been teaching since 2017 and has a Masters of Science in adolescent education from Iona College. Mr. Weyl also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Stanford University. In his free time, he likes to hike, write poetry, prose, and screenplays, and regularly attends ballet, symphony, opera, and theater performances. A fun fact about Mr. Weyl? He was a professional actor until the fifth grade. 

Patrick Butler ’20 - 2024-2025 Ryken Fellow
Mr. Patrick Butler ’20 is returning to Xaverian as this year's Ryken Fellow. Mr. Butler is a recent graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where he studied English Journalism and Sustainability. He is ready to hit the ground running, and can’t wait to catch up with some of his high school teachers. His favorite movie is Good Will Hunting, and in his free time he enjoys hiking, skiing, and mountain biking.  

Jennifer Daly, P ’28 - Front Office Receptionist 
Mrs. Jennifer Daly, P ’28 is no stranger to the Xaverian community. She is a parent to Jack, a member of Xaverian’s freshman class. Prior to Xaverian, she taught in both Medway and Wellesley. Mrs. Daly has a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Merrimack College, and a masters in elementary education from Quinnipiac University. She is looking forward to meeting new people and becoming more engaged in the Xaverian community. Mrs. Daly enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and watching her two sons play baseball. 

Aileen Kelly - Counseling 
Ms. Aileen Kelly is a new addition to Xaverian’s counseling department. Prior to her time on Clapboardtree Street, she was a school counselor at St. John Paul II Catholic Academy in Dorchester. She holds a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a masters in school counseling from Boston College. While at UMass Amherst, Ms. Kelly was a goalie for the lacrosse team. Her favorite movie is The Princess Bride, and if she had the chance to meet one historical figure she would like to meet Jackie Robinson. 

Leigh O’Donoghue, P ’24, ’30 - School Nurse
Mrs. Leigh O'Donoghue, P '24, '30, joined the Xaverian nursing staff in the 2024-2025 school year. Over the last five years, Mrs. O’Donoghue has cared for students in schools across the south shore. She has a B.S. from Curry College and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She credits Xaverian’s  strong Catholic education with helping to guide and prepare her eldest son for the rigors of college, and life. “I anticipate with enthusiasm watching my younger son grow and tackle academic challenges during his years at Xaverian,” she said. 

Samantha Purpura - Assistant Director of Admissions  
Ms. Samantha Purpura joined Xaverian’s admissions team this year. She attended Providence College where she earned a B.S. in marketing and Italian. As the new Assistant Director of Admissions, Ms. Purpura is excited to begin talking to prospective families and showing future Hawks around campus. In her free time, Ms. Purpura enjoys running and spending time with her family.

Meghan Russell, P ’28 - Advancement Event Coordinator 
Mrs. Meghan Russell, P ’28 joined Xaverian’s advancement team this year as the Event Coordinator. She has a B.A. in Geology from Amherst College and an MBA from Boston College. Mrs. Russell is excited to be a part of, and to help further build, Xaverian’s warm and welcoming community. She enjoys spending time with her family on the Cape, reading, and working on jigsaw puzzles. 

Victoria Wesalowski - Student Life Office Manager
Mrs. Wesalowski, Xaverian’s new Student Life Office Manager, is most looking forward to inspiring the young men on Clapboardtree Street, and being equally inspired by them. She is excited to begin getting to know students and families through her new role. This summer, Mrs. Wesalowski had a once-in-a-lifetime experience with her daughter, traveling to London to see the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert. During her free time, she enjoys skiing with her family, playing pickleball, and attending sporting events.
