• Mr. Kyle MacDonald '10, Director of Admissions

  Mr. Kyle MacDonald ‘10 was named Xaverian’s Director of Admissions in May of 2024 after previously serving as the Assistant Director of Admissions for three years. He is responsible for ensuring prospective students and their families are educated and supported through the application process. Mr. MacDonald finds great joy in sharing the impact Xaverian made on him as a student, while assisting young men and their families in beginning their own Xaverian journey. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in sociology from St. Lawrence University and a Master of Science in sports management from Southern New Hampshire University.

  
  Mr. MacDonald has spent the majority of his professional career in education and coaching, including serving as the assistant director of athletics at Darien High School in Connecticut and as an assistant coach for Penn State University’s men's hockey team. His love for coaching has continued at Xaverian as he has served as the head coach of the freshman baseball team and an assistant coach for the varsity hockey team. 

  
  

  An important formative experience for Mr. MacDonald occurred in the summer of 2009 when he attended the Xaverian Leadership Institute (XLI), a week-long retreat for rising seniors that focuses on forming relationships with God, self, and others and the call to become servant leaders for the Xaverian community and beyond. He looks forward to meeting you and learning about your interests and hopes for a Xaverian education.

• Ms. Samantha Purpura, Assistant Director of Admissions

  Ms. Samantha Purpura joined the Xaverian community as the Assistant Director of Admissions in the summer of 2024. She assists the admissions team by organizing Hawk for a Day, conducting interviews, guiding tours, and planning events. A graduate of Providence College, she holds a bachelors of science Marketing and bachelor of arts Italian. During her time at PC she had the unique opportunity to study abroad in Italy for one semester. Ms. Purpura was drawn to Xaverian due to the tight knit community and the amazing opportunities students can get involved in outside of the classroom. In her free time, Ms. Purpura enjoys running and spending time with loved ones, especially in Portland, Maine! 

• Mr. Anif McDonald '12, Director of Community, Culture, and Equity

  Mr. Anif McDonald ’12 is Xaverian’s Director of Community, Culture and Equity (CCE). Before the creation of the CCE Office in 2021, Anif was the Assistant Director of Admissions from 2017-2020 where he built a stronger connection with the entire Xaverian community as well as the surrounding towns and schools in the Greater Boston area. Another part of Anif’s role is being the Assistant  Coach for Xaverian’s Varsity Rugby team since 2017. In addition to his roles in Admissions, CCE, and the Rugby program, Anif has led Global encounters to California, New Jersey, and Mexico as well as leading small groups at XLI for many years. 

  
  

  Anif credits his excitement for working at Xaverian to his amazing experience as a student where he was involved in Student Council, the Diversity Club, Rugby, and Campus Ministry. After he graduated from Fairfield University with a Major in Sociology and a Minor in Psychology in 2016, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in education and in particular, mentoring students and building community. He is now able to fulfill his passions everyday by fostering a positive environment for student advocacy, professional development, and helping to strengthen our rugby program. 

• Mr. Johnathan Charles, Admissions and Community, Culture, and Equity Associate

  Mr. Johnathan Charles graduated from Muhlenberg College with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, initially embarking on a career as a Business Recruiter. However, after 7 years he discovered his true calling in coaching and mentorship, leading him to transition into a more fulfilling role within Xaverian Brothers. He serves as an associate for both the admissions team and the community culture and equity office. This dual role allows him to contribute to the school’s mission of fostering an inclusive and supportive community; while also helping prospective students and their families find their place within the Xaverian Brothers community. He also coaches the Varsity Football, Wrestling, and Track teams, where he strives to inspire and guide students both on and off the field.

• Mrs. Laura Sarkar, P '20, '28, Admissions Assistant

  Mrs. Laura Sarkar became a member of the Admissions team in 2021.  After many  years of being a Xaverian parent, Laura is thrilled to be part of the team. Laura enjoys working with prospective students and families and assisting them in navigating the Admissions process. Mrs. Sarkar looks forward to meeting you and answering all of your admissions questions. Mrs. Sarkar is a very proud parent of a Xaverian 2020 graduate and a current freshman. Her boys were very involved students while at Xaverian. Mrs. Sarkar loves to travel with her family, cooking new recipes and walking her dog, Kelso. 
  

• Mrs. Kristina Poggi, P '28, Admissions Assistant

  Mrs. Kristina Poggi joined the Xaverian Admissions team in the fall of 2023. Her son, Daniel, is a current Class of 2028 student. Mrs. Poggi enjoys working in the admissions office because it gives her a chance to share her family's appreciation for all the Xaverian community has to offer. She looks forward to meeting prospective families and helping them through the admissions process.
