Xaverian Brothers High School Named To Advanced Placement School Honor Roll

Xaverian Brothers High School recognized for student success in Advanced Placement program.

College Board announced that Xaverian Brothers High School has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning a Gold distinction.

The AP® School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

Xaverian offers 22 AP courses, two of which are offered to freshmen. “At Xaverian, we offer a challenging academic curriculum and empower our students to pursue excellence in all things,” said Principal Dr. Michael Nicholson, P ’29. “We’re so proud of the work that they do, and their participation in the AP program is no exception.”

In the 2023-2024 school year, 296 Xaverian students took at least one AP exam, with a total of 645 exams administered. Of the 174 members of the Class of 2024, 78% took at least one AP, with 24% taking five or more APs during their high school careers.

“The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools that have done outstanding work to welcome more students into AP courses and support them on the path to college success,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program. “Research shows that students who enter four-year colleges with credit from AP accelerate their path to graduation and build confidence for college success.”
